Situated on the River Tiber, the ‘Eternal City’ retains plenty of evidence of its rich history. Much of the attraction of Rome is in just wandering around the city, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying the wonders from a bygone age, such as the Colosseum, the Forum, and the Pantheon.
Our luxury rental apartments in Rome are all located centrally, mostly close to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Colosseum, Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori, so you will be able to get around easily on foot to see the main sights. One of the most popular of these is, of course, the Trevi Fountain, the location of many famous films shot in Rome, including ‘Roman Holiday’, and 'La Dolce Vita’, Federico Fellini's satirical portrait of Rome in the 1950’s. A short walk away from here, via one of Rome’s most exclusive shopping streets, the Via Condotti, is the Piazza di Spagna, a masterpiece of the 18th century with its magnificent Spanish Steps, and the Trinita dei Montichurch at the top.
We also have luxury apartments to rent in the trendy, character-filled area of Monti, in the heart of historic Rome. Monti is east of the Roman Forum, tucked away between Via Cavour and Via Nazionale, and an area which is increasingly attracting a young, creative and artistic population, with a plethora of interesting bookshops, cafes, organic food shops, restaurants and art galleries opening all the time. The rental apartments are within a 10 minute walk of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, and within 20 minutes walk of the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Campo di Fiori, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps.
Arguably the square that best represents the period of Baroque Rome is the Piazza Navona, with its three Baroque fountains, including the Fountain of the Four Rivers, designed by Bernini. Opposite the fountains, is the Sant' Agnese in Agone Church which, with its facade by Borromini, is one of the most famous Baroque masterpieces of Rome. Piazza Navona is also popular for relaxing in one of the restaurants and cafés surrounding the piazza, and enjoying the non-stop entertainment here, with artists, musicians and entertainers.
On the other side of the river is the magnificent square of St Peter's at the Vatican and the Trastevere, with its lively atmosphere and character-filled cobbled streets, lined with medieval houses. We have some charming luxury holiday apartments to rent in Trastevere, and the Piazza Santa Maria here is another great place to watch the world go by, from one of the restaurants or bars that line two sides of the square. Enjoy Rome from the great choice of luxury accommodation we offer at the heart of this great city.
