About Us
Taste, Judgement & Considered Personal Attention
The finest properties deserve the finest guidance.
Not an algorithm. Not a listing. A person who has been there, who knows the owners, who remembers what you told them about the last trip and applies it to the next.
We are a small, deliberate company. Our collection is curated rather than comprehensive.
Our service is personal by design.
When you come to us, you are not booking a villa. You are beginning a relationship with people who take this seriously.
Where We Came From
A single stay in Paris. Thirteen years of consequence.
The Luxury Travel Book began with a private apartment in Paris — the kind of stay that changes how you think about travel. More space, a neighbourhood market outside the window, the particular pleasure of living somewhere rather than visiting it.
From that single experience, a collection grew. Over the following thirteen years, we built a portfolio of extraordinary properties across Italy, France, Greece, Portugal, Croatia and beyond — chosen not by availability, but by the standards we would apply to our own holidays. Every home has been visited in person.
Every owner relationship is direct. Every recommendation we make comes from genuine knowledge, not from a commission structure or a catalogue.
That original instinct has not changed. The collection has simply grown into something worthy of it.
“We know which terrace faces the right direction at sunset. Which property manager will go above and beyond when something goes wrong. Which owner will arrange a private dinner in the garden if you ask.”
That is the knowledge we bring to every conversation.
The Team
The people you will work with
We are a small team. That is the point. When you contact us, you speak to someone who knows the properties, the destinations and — in time — you. This is who we are.

Freddie Marquis
Director
Provence · Algarve · Italian cities
Freddie has been placing clients in extraordinary properties for over a decade, and the relationships he has built with our owners are among the most valuable things TLTB offers. He knows which families have owned a property for generations and which ones have just restored a farmhouse to something exceptional. His particular expertise covers Provence, the Portuguese Algarve and the great Italian cities – and he will tell you which neighbourhood to stay in before you think to ask. He is the person clients return to year after year, not because they have to, but because they trust him.
Jamie Marquis
Director
Cape Town · South of France · Amalfi Coast
Jamie’s knowledge of a destination runs considerably deeper than the villa itself. He specialises in Cape Town, the South of France and the Amalfi Coast, and what sets him apart is the granular, on-the-ground detail – the beach club that the guidebooks have not yet found, the restaurant that locals actually eat in on a Tuesday night, the cove that requires a boat and a contact to reach. He is the person to speak to when you want the stay to feel genuinely inside the destination rather than adjacent to it. Many of his clients have been coming back to him for years – drawn initially by the knowledge, and kept by the relationship.
Gioia
Head of Client Experience
All of Italy · Greek islands
Gioia grew up not far from Venice and has spent her career building a knowledge of Italy and the Greek islands that covers everything from the obvious to the quietly extraordinary. She is also the person clients call when a stay needs to become something more – a milestone birthday arranged with genuine care, a private celebration that arrives as a surprise rather than a service. She has a gift for understanding what a moment means to the people living it, and for making sure it is done properly.
Daiana
Travel Designer
Sardinia · All of Italy · Greek islands
Daiana was born in Sardinia and has spent years building a network of local contacts across the destinations she covers – Italy in full and the Greek islands – that goes well beyond the usual. She is the person behind the experiences that do not appear on any list: the private access, the out-of-hours visit, the introduction that takes three years to cultivate and five minutes to arrange once you know the right person. If you are looking for something extraordinary rather than something familiar, Daiana is who we turn to first.
Pierre
Travel Designer
Puglia · Greek islands
Pierre grew up in France and speaks four languages, which tells you something about how he moves through the world. His focus at TLTB is Puglia, Sicily and the Greek islands – two destinations that reward the kind of slow, knowledgeable attention he brings to them. He understands the difference between a property that photographs well and one that actually lives well, and he finds the latter with the instinct of someone who has spent a great deal of time in both places looking carefully.
Alice
Travel Specialist
Tuscany · Comporta
Alice specialises in Tuscany and Comporta – two destinations that could not be more different in character, and that she knows with equal depth. What clients notice most about working with Alice is not any single thing she does, but the absence of anything going wrong. The transfer is there, the welcome note is right, the detail you mentioned in passing has been attended to. That quality of attention is rarer than it sounds, and it is what she brings to every stay she looks after.
Ines
Travel Specialist
Balearic islands · Ibiza · Mallorca
Ines is half Spanish and lived in Barcelona before joining TLTB, which gives her a relationship with the Balearic islands and their cities that is part professional and part personal. She knows Ibiza and Mallorca beyond the version most visitors encounter – the quieter coastlines, the local rhythms, the timing and the contacts that make the difference between a good holiday and one that stays with you. Her clients tend to come back to her specifically, which is the clearest measure of how she works.
Julia Parry
Head of Marketing
South Africa · Cape Town
Julia shapes how TLTB presents itself to the world – from brand positioning and storytelling to the tone and detail that runs through every client touchpoint. With fifteen years in brand, creative and marketing leadership, she brings a strategic perspective to how destinations, properties and experiences are communicated, ensuring that everything TLTB shares feels both aspirational and deeply credible. Her role sits at the intersection of brand, storytelling and client perception – shaping not just what TLTB says, but how it is remembered.
Kate
Digital Content Co-Ordinator
South Africa · Cape Town
Kate ensures that the experience of discovering and booking a property through TLTB is as considered as the properties themselves. She works with precision and purpose – building the digital infrastructure that lets the rest of the team do their best work, and ensuring that what clients encounter online reflects the standards of what awaits them in person.
What We Actually Do
Honest guidance.
Direct relationships.
No surprises on arrival.
Every property in our collection has been assessed in person. Not by a third-party inspection service — by us. We know the light, the noise, the quality of the local knowledge that comes with the keys. When we describe a property as exceptional, we mean it in the specific sense.
Our team is small enough that we remember you. Your requirements from one trip carry forward to the next. If you told us you need a ground-floor bedroom and a kitchen that a serious cook would respect, that is what we look for before we send you a single suggestion.
We also know when a property is not right for you, even if it looks perfect on the page. That honesty is the thing clients tend to come back for.
