Arriving by sea, the iconic windmill marks the entrance to this picturesque town, leading into a maze of whitewashed streets, coloured shutters, and charming balconies. At its heart lies the historic Kastro, dating back to the 13th century.

Just a short distance from Parikia lies Naoussa, the most popular area in Paros. Once a fishing village, this area oozes charm with narrow, stone-paved streets, whitewashed flowers, and a bustling, vibrant harbour. We recommend visiting Paros in the shoulder seasons of late May to June and September to early October. There are fewer tourists around at this time, and the weather is warm and pleasant, perfect for swimming, hiking, and exploring.

Golden Beach (Chrisi Akti) is the windsurfing hub of Paros. This 1km sandy beach offers the best windsurfing and watersports conditions. There are also plenty of sunbeds and cafes nearby for those who prefer to rest and relax.

If you are travelling to Paros for a family holiday we recommend finding a property in either Aliki in the south or Naoussa in the north. Ailiki is much quieter with shallow beaches, and Naoussa is more lively with a very family-friendly atmosphere.
Paros is a very driveable island, with many travellers opting to rent a car or scooter for travelling conveniently around the island. There is a main ring road that allows you to drive around the whole island in an hour (traffic and season permitting).
