Franschhoek Residence was built in 2009, as the owners home, on the farm which dates back to 1688, blending history as well as French and African contemporary aesthetics. The 55ha property is surrounded by vineyards, weeping willows and a scenic dam, with incredible views of the Franschhoek mountains in the distance. The 1400 m² luxury villa rental embodies a feeling of homeliness while on vacation. A magnificently comfortable 6 bedroom home with modern amenities and state-of-the-art technology, ideal for a family or group of 12 looking to relax. It lends itself equally well to summer months, with a large pool and air conditioning and under-floor heating and a large wood burning fireplace in the colder months. The luxury villa rental also benefits from a small gym, equipped with a treadmill, exercise bike and weights as well as a treatment room with 2 massage beds, where a therapist can be arranged to provide massages and beauty treatments, this space also lends itself well to yoga sessions. For the little ones there is a welcoming playground area.

Indoors – The interiors are a pale palette of white with complimenting accent colours, and statement antler chandeliers in the lounge and dining room. The large communal spaces include a comfortable entertainment room with Netflix, Apple TV, DSTV and high speed internet throughout the luxury villa rental. As well as a cosy living room with a large open fireplace. There is an open plan fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar adjacent to the 12 seater indoor dining space with fireplace. Promoting an indoor/outdoor lifestyle, from here you will benefit from easy access to the pool area as well as beautiful views of the golden evening light on the Franschhoek vineyards, and if you plan your stay perfectly to watch harvest in late summer.

Bedroom 1 – Located on the ground floor, with access to a patio with seating overlooking the leafy garden. It is fitted with a king sized bed and en-suite bathroom with bath, double shower, double vanity & a bidet. As well as plenty of cupboard space, comfy seating and DSTV & Netflix.

Bedroom 2 – A twin/king convertible beds located on the ground floor, with vineyard views and an en-suite bathroom with shower, as well as a small desk area, DSTV & Netflix.

Bedroom 3 – Also located on the ground floor with twin/king convertible beds, this room has an-suite bathroom with bath & shower, DSTV & Netflix.

Bedroom 4 – Has a king bed with an en-suite bathroom with bath & shower, plenty of cupboard space, as well as DSTV & Netflix.

Bedroom 5 – Located on the first floor, has a king bed with an en-suite bathroom with bath & shower, as well as DSTV & Netflix.

Bedroom 6 – A king bed with en-suite bathroom with bath & shower, located on the first floor, with DSTV & Netflix.

Outdoors – The outside area has a terrace with outdoor furniture and a TV to relax, a long bar that overlooks the garden, the ideal space to welcome the evening with a glass of wine. It also has a large pool (not covered) with 4 sun loungers for sun drenched days, a well as a manicured lawn and dedicated playground area for kids. There is a wooden deck with stairs that overlooks a catch and release fishing dam with an adjacent fire pit and seating.

The Franschhoek Valley and town offers plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained while on vacation. One of the best ways to discover the area is the Wine Tram hop-on hop-off tour through the picturesque vineyards, offering breath-taking scenery and warm hospitality with world-class cuisine and fine wines. On a sunny day, with the required permits it’s possible to cycle all the way up the steep Simonsberg mountains, and various other biking areas for those less avid cyclists. The nearby area also offers Premier Fly Fishing at various trout farms offering rainbow Trout and Small Mouth Bass in crystal clear dams and rivers. The area offers some of South Africa’s most beautiful hiking trails, the Franschhoek Mountains, Drakenstein Mountains and adjacent Boland Mountains offer both day hikes and overnight hikes. Start with a stroll on the 55ha estate that allows you to explore the vineyards and takes you up the mountain for spectacular views. The more adventurous hikers can opt for the tougher challenges, with some trails requiring permits. For those looking for something a little different, there are also horse carriage rides available on the estate and or wine tasting on horseback, at a neighbouring farm. The main street of Franschhoek offers plenty of boutique shopping, lined with many restaurants to rest your feet, as well as spa’s to unwind with a relaxing massage.
