The exceptional Villa Mihiripenna luxury villa to rent on Sri Lanka is perfect for extended families, large gatherings and groups of friends looking for a tranquil rural setting close to Galle’s beautiful beaches. Set in lush gardens, facilities include an open-sided living and dining pavilion with bar (added in late 2016), an elegant fan-cooled lounge, furnished verandas and a large jade-green swimming pool, with jacuzzi jets, within the private gardens.

Within a three acre tropical garden, there are two elegant buildings housing six bedrooms, and also  two cabanas, each with one bedroom.  Each bedroom is beautifully designed, and has air conditioning, and an en-suite bathroom. The classic-colonial ebony and ivory-hued interiors and exterior living and dining areas are both comfortable and refined. Further amenities include free Wi-Fi, TV, a massage room and yoga shala. Free tuk tuks can be provided for visiting the nearby beach.

Bookable by the room or the entire property, this exclusive private retreat is looked after by an attentive staff team, including managers and chefs who warmly contribute to the villa’s home-from-home ambiance. It is also very suitable for celebrating a special event, such as a wedding or anniversary. The excellent chef serves homemade western, Lebanese, Sri Lankan and pan-Asian cuisine. The property can be booked at B&B, half board or full board rates. There is also a licensed restaurant at the property.  Extras available on request include cooking lessons with the villa chefs, a guided bicycle ride through Galle’s rural hinterland, visit to a lowland tea factory for tasting sessions and tours, coastal cruises or whale/dolphin watching in season, a tour of the atmospheric streets of the history-laden Galle Fort – or a relaxing in-villa massage or beauty treatment. The villa can accommodate up to 16 adults and 8 children.
