The Villa Montalbano luxury villa to rent in Sicily is situated near the south coast, just 6 km from the beach. The estate is made up of two houses that are let together – Casuzza and Irminio. They sit above a small valley dotted with carob trees and distant farmhouses.
The two houses are approximately 300 metres from each other. Between them lies the pool, with breathtaking views. The larger house, Casuzza, has three bedrooms, and the smaller house, Irminio, also has three bedrooms. Both are fully air-conditioned.
Casuzza: This is an old farmhouse built in the honey-coloured local stone, which blends beautifully into the surrounding terraced fields. From the terrace, you can see right down to the sea. The owner’s son, an architect, has done a fabulous job of marrying the property’s original features with modern design.
The ground-floor living rooms, dining room, and kitchen flow seamlessly into each other and all open via French doors onto the terrace.
The master bedroom is also on the ground floor. It has two bathrooms, one with a tub and one with a shower. Open stairs without a railing lead to the upper floor, where you will find two bedrooms (which can be arranged as twins or doubles, as you prefer), each with its own bathroom. Casuzza is fully air-conditioned but also stays naturally cool thanks to its extremely thick walls.
Irminio: This second house was built in 2020. All rooms are on the ground floor. The open-plan living and dining room, with adjacent kitchen, opens onto a 40 m² loggia, which is where most time is spent in summer. A double bedroom with en suite bathroom opens onto a second terrace. There are two further bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.
The 12-metre lap pool lies between the two houses. It is surrounded by carob trees, which provide pleasant natural shade. There is a table with chairs and large mattresses for sunbathing.
Natural shade from the carob trees also falls over the dining terrace and sunbeds. Close to the pool, a small stone shed is used to store the sunbeds.
