The Villa Mochlos I luxury villa to rent on Crete is just a short walk from the picturesque fishing village of Mochlos and the beach. Mochlos is situated on the east coast of the island, midway between Sitia and Agios Nikolaos (each approximately 45 minutes’ drive), and offers all the ingredients for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Visitors will enjoy wandering the narrow streets and dining at the traditional tavernas along the waterfront, where delicious fresh food is served with wonderful sea views. Beside one of the tavernas is a natural rock pool, warmed by the sun during the day – perfect for relaxing while taking in the views.

Mochlos is also steeped in ancient history. Directly opposite the village lies a tiny island, home to archaeological sites from the first colony of Minoan civilisation, accessible by boat. Extensive excavations here have uncovered a pre-palatial cemetery, several tombs, and many buildings dating from the Minoan era.

The interiors of this luxury holiday villa exude taste and simplicity, drawing inspiration from the natural Cretan landscape and the sea. The décor is understated yet elegant, with natural colours, mortar flooring, and handmade works of art, including ceramic sculptures by Melina Xenaki (Krikri Collection). There is also air conditioning throughout. The villa features a private swimming pool with floating sunbeds, while the infinity pool terrace is lined with comfortable beanbag chairs. Guests can also enjoy a covered outdoor living and dining area, as well as a spa area with hydromassage.

A second two-bedroom villa is available to rent on the same estate, also with its own private swimming pool, although each villa remains entirely private. Rented together, the villas can accommodate up to eight people (or twelve with use of sofa beds). A stay at these luxury villas, just steps from the sea, is the perfect opportunity to relax and restore a sense of tranquillity and wellbeing. Yoga classes, massage treatments, cooking classes, and boat or fishing trips can all be arranged for guests.
