Novigrad, home to one of our villas to rent in Istria, is located on a peninsula on the Western coast of Istria, two kilometres north from the mouth of the river Mirna and about 20 kilometres south from the borders with Slovenia and Italy. With a rich cultural heritage, the town has retained its medieval structure, with its narrow winding streets and the famous city wall, with its battlements and two round towers, which has protected the town for centuries.

Novigrad is also known as one of the top Istrian gourmet destinations, with culinary events held throughout the summer months. The Novigrad region is also highly regarded as the number one tennis destination in Croatia, with the popular tennis tournament, ATP Croatia Open Umag held here every year in July. Cycling and mountain biking are very popular too, with more than 500 kms of bicycle trails enabling visitors to discover forests and streams, vineyards, hidden chapels and ancient ruins. A unique attraction for children, only 5 kms away, is the “Istralandia” aquapark.
