The farmhouse & stables is a destination of excellence that offers not only history, but also exceptional gastronomy and fine wines, as well as breath-taking landscapes and countless experiences that mark your stay, it is booked exclusively and can comfortable accommodate up to 12 people. A quiet rural retreat well located for exploring the wonders of the Alentejo province, offering activities such as horse riding, yoga, cooking lessons and regional wine tasting.

While the concierge staff are able to assist in arranging water polo or a pool side DJ for something a bit livelier. The property benefits from horse stay facilities to accommodate your horses during your stay. There is a big paddock, a riding arena and a further 87ha of beautiful property to explore. The experienced team can take care of all the details and your horse while on holiday, with the option to complete a stable management course so you can learn how to clean and look after horses yourself.

Indoors – Split over 2 levels the luxury villa rental offers fireplaces in the living room and dining room, as well as a regional kitchen. The living room measures 100 square meters with a TV and card table, the 50 square metre 16 seater dining room can cater for special events of up to 30 people. On the ground floor you will find the entrance hall & guest WC while the living and dining rooms both open onto covered terraces for outdoor dining and lead to the pool area. The spacious & fully equipped kitchen is a great space for a group Alentejo gastronomy lesson. There is also a utility room with wine cellar and a fully equipped laundry room (staff use only). All the bedrooms in the main house have orthopaedic beds & down duvets, unfortunately no extra beds can be provided.

Bedroom 1 – Located on the ground floor and fitted with a four post bed (210×190) and has a dressing area, study with open fireplace, private bathroom with Jacuzzi bath & separate walk-in shower.

Bedroom 2 – Also located on the ground floor is a double bedroom (240×180) with private shower bathroom

Bedroom 3 – A double bedroom suite (200×185) located on the ground floor with a private bathroom with handheld shower.

Bedroom 4 – Fitted with large single beds (200×115) and has a private shower bathroom.

Bedroom 5 – Has large single beds (200×115) with a private shower bathroom.

Outdoors – Consists of a pool, a barbecue terrace and a number of outdoor areas to relax and recline while on vacation. The private outdoor salt treated swimming pool with roman steps offers solace on a scorching summers day, measuring 8×12 meters in length, the shallow-end is 90cm, and the deep-end 160cm. Open for summer months only, complete with a poolside shower & WC, a shaded area, sun loungers and pool towels. The pool area can accommodate an outdoor cinema, take a dip in the pool whilst enjoying this unique cinematic experience.

The property offers several programs that are tailored to suit guests, including horse-riding, jogging, spinning, swimming. Activities in the local area include golf, cultural visits to historic UNESCO places, visits to the most prestigious wine cellars in the Alto Alentejo region with wine-tasting and lunches at fantastic restaurants. Providing a very special boutique farm stay near the heart of the town in Praça da República, decorated by orange trees and a fountain. City Hall is framed by a square and several Baroque palaces dating back to the 18th century. As well as a chapel that is totally covered in bones and human skulls. There is plenty of sightseeing to do around and about including the ​House Museum Jose Regio, the Cathedral Portalegre and the Village of Nisa. Definitely make time to explore the Berardo Estremoz Museum, which has the largest and most important private collection of tiles in Portugal or the Antique market on Sunday in Estremoz.

Monforte, the closest town to the farm, has been the site of horse racing since the Roman times. Guests can enjoy a magnificent riding experience around the farm and through the surrounding properties. There are a number of owners and breeders of Arabian horses in the area.

Cellar visits can be arranged to some of the best-established Portuguese estates where wine-making has been a tradition for several generations, as well as some new wineries, which are producing some of the country’s finest wines. Concierge can help identify some of the best wine cellars to visit in the area, as well as recommend one offering wine events and wine tasting classes.

Discover Alentejo from a 360 degree view from the sky in a hot air balloon and gain unique dimensions of the majestic historic buildings and beautiful landscape or enjoy the musical entertainment of fado sevillanas with/without horses, the flamenco or Alentejo songs’ group. There is no light pollution and the view of the stars at night is breath-taking with multiple spots that are perfect to grab a glimpse of a shooting star or view the constellations.
