The Villa Lucignano luxury villa to rent in Tuscany is situated on a small estate, just 3 kms from the medieval hilltop village of Lucignano, famous for its streets arranged in a circle, and with grocery stores, cafés and simple authentic trattorias. The larger town of Arezzo is 30 kms to the north of Lucignano, and worth a visit for its frescoes by Piero della Francesca in the Basilica San Francesco, as well as an antique market on the first weekend of the month. Many of Tuscany’s major sights can be reached within approximately an hour’s drive, including Cortona, Siena and Montepulciano.
The original charming farm building has been restored with a great sense of style and easy living. The kitchen, on the ground floor, runs along the entire width of the house, with windows or doors on three sides and a large Tuscan farm table as its centre. The living room, also on the ground floor, has a large fireplace, French windows, and white sofas and chairs. The upper floor is reached over the outdoor stairs which lead to a sunny upstairs living room and two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The views from the bedrooms of this luxury villa rental in Tuscany are lovely, with rolling hills and the hilltop town of Lucignano on the horizon.
There is also an annex, about 20 metres from the main building, with another double bedroom with bathroom and private terrace. At the back of the annex is a large laundry. The stylish swimming pool (in grey stone with dark turquoise water, 14 x 4.5m) lies on a lower level of the garden down a gentle slope. There is a shower next to the pool. Within the garden, there is a pergola covered dining area for meals outdoors. The house can also be rented on its own with two bedrooms, in which case, the annex will be kept closed.
