Situated in the beautiful hills of the Chianti wine region, Villa Fonterutoli is an eco-luxury Tuscan relais with panoramic views over the countryside of vineyards, olive groves and wild oak forests. Set within 3 acres of land, with 80 olive trees, it is just a few minutes’ drive from the historic hamlet of Fonterutoli and the Mazzei family winery, which has been producing Chianti Classico wine for centuries. The charming town of Castellina in Chianti is just a 6-minute drive to the north, with its stone cobbled streets, piazzas, and authentic restaurants and botteghe offering wine tastings.

The accommodation is arranged across a main house with five bedrooms and a granary with an additional two bedrooms. The furniture is a combination of Tuscan antiques sourced from around the region, including large mirrors, hand-carved wood, wrought-iron chandeliers and two original Tuscan fireplaces.

The relais also offers wonderful outdoor spaces, where guests can enjoy relaxing by the heated saltwater swimming pool (4.5 x 8.5 m) and dining in one of the al fresco areas, including a wisteria-covered pergola perfect for evening meals. There is also an outdoor wood-burning stone fire pit, a built-in stone outdoor kitchen and grill, as well as a pizza oven and a small fitness room. The upper pool level has been designed for group yoga sessions and private events. Ecologically conscious, the relais features a sustainable solar panel system and 100% renewable electricity.
