Paris

Rome

Top tip: On the 8th December each year, it is traditional to decorate the Christmas tree with the whole family, and this is usually when the first trees will also be found around the city and by popular monuments and tourist attractions. Additionally, the large nativity scene at St Peter’s Square in Vatican City is well worth a visit.

Barcelona

Another firm favourite is the Christmas market found in the park beside the Sagrada Família. Slightly smaller than the Fira de Santa Llucia, there are a range of traditional decorations but also delicious churros with hot chocolate and roasted chestnuts – ideal after a long day of walking around Barcelona’s many streets.
