With staycations on the rise, our portfolio now features a number of very tempting properties in the Lake District, Cotswolds, Suffolk, Devon and Cornwall, perfect for our more local members looking to make the most of this summer.
As one of the UK’s most popular holiday destinations, the Cotswolds tick almost all the boxes as a ‘picture postcard’ destination – from its beautiful green rolling countryside, and charming villages with honey-coloured stone houses, to its historic castles, palaces and stately homes, ancient churches, and stunning gardens. Days here can be spent exploring the countryside and the picturesque towns and villages with their art galleries and antique shops, and often still an ancient market square at their centre.
The area is also known for its traditional character-filled pubs, and the great choice of restaurants, as well as delicious local cheeses. For those who love walking, there are more than 5000 kms of footpaths and bridleways to explore.
In a perfect setting at the heart of the pretty village of Temple Guiting, there are several accommodation options here, to cater for smaller to very large groups.
The entire estate, comprising 14.5 acres, can be rented together for up 30 – 34 people. Alternatively, the main Manor house and its beautifully renovated Barn, can be rented separately, both with the addition of one or more of the smaller cottages on the estate. Outdoor facilities include an all-weather astro-turf tennis court and a new outdoor heated swimming pool (the latter available for guests who rent the entire estate, or the Barn and add-on cottages).
The Manor has 5 bedrooms, but can also be rented with 3 of the smaller cottages, one with 3 bedrooms and the other two each with 1 bedroom. The Barn also has 5 bedrooms and can be rented with the two small 1 bedroom cottages if required.

Also in the Cotswolds, we are offering privately owned holiday homes on an estate of 850 acres of lakes, meadows and woodland, close to the pretty town of Lechlade on Thames. The houses to rent here are offer a great choice of leisure facilities, making them very suitable for both family and adult holidays. A swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball court, football pitch, canoeing/sailing, paddle boarding, cycling, fishing, and a restaurant/cafe are among the amenities available to guests.
Child care can also be arranged and there is a ‘kids’ club’, as well as a choice of dining options, including a private chef. Moreover, there is a Spa, and a heated swimming pool, sauna and gym.
The number of bedrooms at the various properties range from 3 – 5, and all benefit from lake views. Claydon Lodge (3 bedrooms) on the edge of Warren’s Cross Lake has a furnished south-facing deck, while the 5 bedroom The Poolhouse, sits in a secluded position on edge of Bowmoor Lake. The rooms on the ground floor here open to an ‘over water’ furnished terrace, also with fire pit and barbecue, and there is also a private rooftop terrace with swimming pool, hot tub and outdoor shower.
On the south coast of Cornwall, we are offering a charming 3 bedroom Georgian Grade ll seaside cottage, located in the tiny harbour village of Charlestown. A UNESCO heritage site, with a beautiful harbour dating back to the 18th Century, Charlestown is also an excellent base from which to explore Cornwall’s small bays and beaches, as well as the popular Eden Project. Guests staying at Charlestown Cottage will be just a short walk from the two beaches either side of the quay and just a stroll to the local pub, restaurants, wine bar and deli.
Further north on the Jurassic coast, we are featuring Rousdon House, a unique Water Tower to rent on a private estate in Devon, just 3 miles from the Dorset border and the charming coastal town of Lyme Regis. Surrounded by tranquil woodland on a private estate the property benefits from views over farmland to the sea. Moreover, there is access to the estate’s private beach at Charton Bay.
Guests here can also enjoy excellent cycling and walking routes on the property’s doorstep. With 5 bedrooms, the property also has an indoor swimming pool, steam room, and games room.
New additions to our website are two stunning properties on Lake Ullswater, set within 27 acres of private grounds, and with half a mile of lake frontage. The main property, Waternook (6 bedrooms) and the adjacent beautifully renovated The Great Barn (4 bedrooms) can be rented either separately or together for a total of up to 20 guests.
Concierge services can be arranged in advance, on request, including a range of outdoor activities, such as mountain walks, lakeside walks, cycling and lake cruises.
For example, for the more energetic, The Ullswater Way is a 20 mile walking route around the lake, which can also incorporate an open bus or a steamer.
Alternatively, a mountain guide can arrange a bespoke walk based on guests’ interests – for example a historic walk, or one which includes wildlife, foraging and also photography. Arguably the best lakeshore walk is the 2 hour walk between Howton and Glenridding on the south eastern shore (where our two properties are located). Lake cruises are also operated during the summer months.
Ideal for relaxing after a long walk, Waternook features an outdoor barbecue kitchen, and a lake view bar, as well as a Spa and Wellness Sanctuary with a Laconium and bar area, leading to a yoga terrace where there is a hot tub.Last, but not least, the Lake District offers some of the UK’s best restaurants, seven of them with Michelin stars.
In Suffolk our selection of luxury rental properties are located within the Wilderness Reserve, a 5000 acre private estate, managed for wildlife, and offering guests a wonderful opportunity to return to nature. The estate hosts many species of birds, butterflies and mammals, and plants, while acres of wildflowers, in vibrant colours, are on display during spring, summer and autumn seasons. Just a 2 ½ hour drive by car from London, the estate can also be reached by helicopter directly, or by train to Darsham just a 5 minute drive away. Transfers to the property can be arranged.
The Suffolk coast, and nearest village of Dunwich, are just a 15 minute drive away, and a little further north, is the pretty Georgian village of Walberswick, which has long been popular for artists and writers. The coastal town of Aldeburgh, 20 minutes drive, is also popular with cultural minded tourists – for its specialist food shops and restaurants, its arts’ festivals, and connection with the composer, Benjamin Britten.
Under the guidance of a Wilderness Reserve Manager, a range of tours and guides, including early morning birdwatching, are available for guests – or you can just decide to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of these idyllic surroundings.
