Just around 9 km from Passignano sul Trasimeno, the quaint hillside village of Castel Rigone is well worth exploring. The village is home to the Sanctuary of Maria Santissima dei Miracoli, one of the most important architectural masterpieces of the Umbrian Renaissance. According to local tradition, the village takes its name from Rigo, an Ostrogoth commander who established a base here in 543 AD ahead of the siege of Perugia during the Gothic Wars.

The surrounding area is ideal for discovering the beauty and heritage of Umbria. Guests can visit Passignano sul Trasimeno, Tuoro sul Trasimeno, Magione, and Castiglione del Lago, where lakeside restaurants, local markets, historic centres, and panoramic views await.
