Villa Barco is a luxury villa rental placed in the Umbrian countryside. A formal courtyard forms the heart of Villa Barco around which the living accommodation is situated. This splendid six-bedroom property is located within walking distance of the Reschio Hotel with its restaurants and bars as well as the stables and tennis courts.

The main house has well-appointed living areas, an extensive master area and a further en-suite bedroom. A covered dining area links the main house to further accommodation, with three en-suite bedrooms and two sets of bunk beds for additional sleeping places for children. Barcolino the guest cottage containing one-bedroom and a dormitory with six single beds completes the accommodation.

An 18×4.5 metre swimming pool is a few steps down from the dining terraces and next to the pool is a custom-built spa bath. A gazebo covered viewing platform in the garden provides a breathtaking 360° panorama that includes a ‘close up’ of not one but two castles, that of Castello di Reschio and of Sorbello across the valley in Tuscany.

Location

Villa Barco is situated a stone’s throw from the buzz of the tennis courts, stables, restaurants and bar and a short walk to the Reschio Hotel. It has a magnificent view of both the Castello di Reschio and Castello di Sorbello in Tuscany.

Around the villa, you’ll find cypress-lined avenues perfect for gentle strolls, historic castle chapels to explore, and the estate’s abundant orto, where seasonal produce is freshly harvested. The landscapes of Umbria and Tuscany inspired the canvases of the Renaissance painters, and exploring the hazy hills, medieval hill-top towns, museums and art galleries is a rare treat.

Spend time at the Equestrian Centre watching Spanish horses train with elegance, then pause for lunch at Ristorante Alle Scuderie or a drink at Bar Centrale. Cool off with a swim in the estate’s lake, followed by a picnic in the lakeside cabin. For more activity, take on the resident tennis coach on the Astroturf courts. As the day draws to a close, enjoy cocktails in the Palm Court at the Reschio Hotel, or savour a sunset dinner at Ristorante Al Castello, when the surrounding Etruscan hills glow with enchantment.

Within an hour’s drive of Reschio are the spellbinding towns of Assisi, Arezzo, Cortona, Gubbio, Perugia and Siena. The long summer season, meanwhile, is alive with open-air concerts and opera, as well as little seasonal festas held in villages and towns.
