Villa Arrighi is a luxury villa rental overlooking the rolling hills of Umbria and the Niccone Valley. Meticulously restored in 2004, the property is based on the original farmhouse and consists of three buildings: the imposing L-shaped Main House, a charming Guest House, and a traditional Bread Oven. Guests arrive through stone gates, past the guest cottage and along a short drive shaded by Holm oaks, where a mature garden of ancient olive trees and Mediterranean plants sets the scene. A paved courtyard with a fountain leads inside, where Romanesque features and 11th-century origins meet modern elegance, with sandstone flooring and a striking glass-encased staircase tower. The villa sleeps up to twelve guests across five spacious bedrooms in the Main House and a one-bedroom guest cottage.

This exquisite villa offers 600m² of elegant living space set 470 metres above sea level, surrounded by beautifully landscaped, traditionally planted gardens with local trees, shrubs, and herbs. Designed for both comfort and luxury, it features a fully equipped kitchen with two Gaggenau double ice-maker fridges and two ovens, underfloor heating on the ground level with radiators in the other areas, and heated towel rails in all six bathrooms. The interiors extend effortlessly outdoors, where a spectacular 18x4m lap-lane infinity swimming pool, large covered dining area, and expansive irrigated lawns and flowerbeds create the perfect setting for entertaining or relaxing.

Around the villa, you’ll find cypress-lined avenues perfect for gentle strolls, historic castle chapels to explore, and the estate’s abundant orto, where seasonal produce is freshly harvested. The landscapes of Umbria and Tuscany inspired the canvases of the Renaissance painters, and exploring the hazy hills, medieval hill-top towns, museums and art galleries is a rare treat.

Spend time at the Equestrian Centre watching Spanish horses train with elegance, then pause for lunch at Ristorante Alle Scuderie or a drink at Bar Centrale. Cool off with a swim in the estate’s lake, followed by a picnic in the lakeside cabin. For more activity, take on the resident tennis coach on the Astroturf courts. As the day draws to a close, enjoy cocktails in the Palm Court at the Reschio Hotel, or savour a sunset dinner at Ristorante Al Castello, when the surrounding Etruscan hills glow with enchantment.

Within an hour’s drive of Reschio are the spellbinding towns of Assisi, Arezzo, Cortona, Gubbio, Perugia and Siena. The long summer season, meanwhile, is alive with open-air concerts and opera, as well as little seasonal festas held in villages and towns.
