Immediately conjuring up images of lavender fields and olive trees, tempting food markets and charming Luberon hill villages, as well as the old papal city of Avignon, dating back to the 14th Century and Aix-en-Provence, birthplace of Post-Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne. Just a 25 minute drive from Aix-en-Provence, and also an easy drive to the Luberon, we are offering an exceptional, historic luxury villa to rent set in a park of 22 hectares. Another luxury villa rental, renovated from an old Provençal bastide and in a different area of the large estate, is also available. At both luxury villas, tours of the vineyards, and tastings, truffle hunting and other Provençal experiences can be arranged.
Further to the east we are recommending a luxury villa to rent within large private gardens on the exclusive Domaine Terre Blanche, just 45 minutes west of Nice Airport. Guests here will be able to enjoy all the many facilities here, as well as day trips to the “Villages Perches” such as Fayence, Seillans or Callian.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our Provence portfolio includes restored mas farmhouses such as Mas Maussane with private pools among the lavender fields of the Luberon, elegant bastide country houses in the Alpilles above Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, and discreet private residences within the medieval villages of the Var and the Vaucluse – each personally vetted and supported by our full concierge service.
Provence demands its own transport – its network of plane tree-lined roads connecting hilltop villages, vineyard estates, and weekly markets are best explored with the freedom to stop at will. A private driver is invaluable for wine and olive oil domaine visits and evening dining. We work with a small number of trusted, discreet drivers and can arrange dedicated transport for the duration of your stay.
Marseille Provence Airport is the most convenient gateway, placing Aix-en-Provence under thirty minutes away and the Luberon under an hour. Avignon TGV station connects directly to Paris in under three hours and is well positioned for the northern Vaucluse. A pre-arranged private transfer is the most seamless arrival – let us organise this ahead of your trip.
The Luberon, with its hilltop villages of Gordes, Ménerbes, and Bonnieux rising from a landscape of cherry orchards and lavender, is the most quintessentially Provençal of the regions and best explored in June and July when the fields are in full colour. The Alpilles above Saint-Rémy offer a wilder, more mineral landscape of limestone crags, olive groves, and Roman ruins. Aix-en-Provence, with its elegant cours Mirabeau, daily market, and deep Cézanne associations, is the most rewarding urban base in the region.
The Pont du Gard, the Roman aqueduct spanning the Gardon river in three tiers of perfect limestone arches, is one of the most breathtaking ancient monuments in Europe. The Carrières de Lumières at Les Baux-de-Provence – an immersive art projection in a former quarry – is one of the most singular cultural experiences in southern France. The Thursday market at Saint-Rémy and the Friday market at Lourmarin are among the finest in Provence and worth planning a stay around.
The Camargue – its flamingos, white horses, and vast salt marshes stretching to the Mediterranean – is under two hours from the Luberon and entirely unlike anywhere else in France. The Gorges du Verdon, Europe’s answer to the Grand Canyon, is under two hours from Aix and rewards a full day on the water or the clifftop roads above. We can arrange private drivers and tailored itineraries for either.
Aix-en-Provence’s market streets and the restaurants around the Place des Cardeurs are the most rewarding for honest Provençal cooking – tapenade, brandade, and the region’s exceptional rosé the natural order of any lunch. For a more considered evening, L’Oustau de Baumanière in Les Baux-de-Provence remains the most celebrated address in the region – a grand Provençal table rooted in the finest local produce and one of the great wine cellars of southern France.
