With little road traffic, the city is small enough to get around easily, either on foot, bicycle, or public transport, yet Amsterdam also has all the advantages of a big city with plenty of culture, nightlife, international restaurants and world famous museums. Main tourist attractions include the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House and the Stedelijk Museum. Alongside the wealth of famous paintings, there are also exciting smaller modern art, film, theatre and photography museums, and for chidren, there is NEMO; a hands-on science and technology museum and the National Maritime Museum with its replica of a Dutch trading ship, docked behind.
Two of our rental apartments are in an old canal house overlooking the Singel Canal, right in the heart of Amsterdam's historical centre. and around the corner from Spui, a delightful Amsterdam square with famous bars and restaurants. Walking out of the front door to the right and crossing the bridge gives you access to The Nine Streets (De Negen Straatjes), the city's most delightful shopping area. There are also plenty of fabulous designer boutiques, art galleries and gift shops in the surrounding area.
Our other holiday rentals Amsterdam include a modern, stylish apartment in Binnen Brouwersstraat, in the beautiful area of the northern Jordaan with its a huge range of restaurants and cafes, speciality shops and an art-house cinema, as well as weekly organic food and flea markets. We also offer a penthouse apartment in a quiet, wide street in the former historic Jewish quarter. It is a wonderfully central location for getting around Amsterdam on foot, with the Hermitage Museum, Rembrandt’s House, the Jewish Historical Museum, plus a flea market and a farmer’s market all within 8 minutes walk.
