The ‘Ruga Rialto’, the main pedestrian street connecting the Rialto area to Campo San Polo is lined with a variety of shops, many still run by Venetian artisans selling locally-made goods ranging from Italian leather, to clothing, to accessories. On the ground floor of the Palazzo, there is a restaurant, and are several popular restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity.

The Palazzo has recently been renovated to create nine luxurious rental apartments, each of which is named after one of the spices which started arriving in Venice from 1200, transforming its cuisine, its economy, its art and its lifestyle. Located on the second ‘piano nobile’, Anice is the largest and most spectacular apartment in the Palazzo. The accommodation comprises a large living room, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a dine-in kitchen, and beautiful canal views. Towering ceilings and stylish custom-made Italian furnishings make this apartment particularly special, with the interior design featuring beige walls and white beamed ceilings. A harmonious palette of muted greys and blues is used in the bedrooms to offset the neutral colours. The flooring is terrazzo marble, while furnishings and cushions are in hand-painted fabrics by Fortuny and Rubelli. Ornaments include Murano glass designer vases.

On entering the living room, two french windows with balcony overlook the charming canal of St Agostin. The 6.45 metre ceilings are painted a dove-grey and are framed by a bronze stucco moulding. To the right of the living room is the first bedroom, with four large windows overlooking the canal and square. Its tall, beamed ceiling is painted dove-grey, while the en suite bathroom features a large tub in Istrian stone. The second bedroom is located to the left of the living room and has three large canal-facing windows. The walls are covered in Rubelli fabric, while the beamed ceilings are painted in dove-grey. The luxurious bathroom has a arge shower. An independent hallway leads to a dine-in kitchen and a third bedroom and bathroom. Both face the garden and canal and have light oak floors. The spacious kitchen also overlooks the palace’s inner courtyard. Amenities include air conditioning, home automation system, satellite/cable TV, audio system and Wi-Fi internet. A choice of feather or anti-allergic pillows and duvets is offered, and there are hairdryers in the bathrooms. Guests also have access to a dryer, ironing facilities and baby equipment.
