This charming semi-detached house stands at the far end of the private hamlet at the foot of the castle of Vivo d’Orcia. The house opens onto the hamlet's piazzetta on one side and a private yard to the back of the house. The castle of Vivo d’Orcia lies in the Val d’Orcia in southern Tuscany, close to the famous hilltop towns of Pienza, Montalcino and Montepulciano. The village of Vivo d’Orcia, at less than 1 km from the estate offers excellent shopping facilites. You will find a small supermarket, a bar and a bank, as well as a typical trattoria specialising in regional country fare.

The very sympathetic restoration of the building was managed by Daria Cervini, who runs Vivo d’Orcia with her three siblings. With her sense of taste and style, she has retained traditional features and added modern comforts, blending the house into a place where new meets old in the best of ways. The house has its own very private garden. There is also a saltwater swimming pool shared with three other cottages on the estate. The pool is reached down a path that runs along the orchard of the estate, less than 200m from the house. The pool is surrounded by old walls and accessed through a gate (and therefore safe for small children). The views from the property over unspoilt countryside are magical. Outside the house is a pergola with outdoor dining area.

On entering the house, a large glass door leads into the inviting kitchen where an old farm table serves as main dining table. Two steps from here lead into the living room with huge fireplace, which also opens up onto the piazzetta. On the same ground floor a twin bedroom with adjoining bathroom has french windows to the back yard.Lovely old terracotta stairs lead to the upper floor. Here a single bedroom which can also be a dressing room, and leads to the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Amenities include stereo, satellite TV, Wi-Fi internet, a dishwasher and washing machine.
