This luxurious and unique Via Condotti serviced apartment rental in Rome is on the third floor of a 16th century Palazzo, in one of Rome’s finest shopping streets, and a five minute walk from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Steeped with history, and once the residence of Emperor Napoleon III, who lived here in 1830, the apartment has been restored to its original splendour. Entrance to the Palazzo is through massive wooden doors and along an arcade of Doric columns with ancient artefacts on display. Guests can reach this vacation apartment by lift, or by the grand marble staircase lined with antique marble busts of Roman emperors.
The rental accommodation consists of three magnificent rooms (about 2350 square feet) with parquet floors, hand-stencilled walls, antique furnishings, huge oil paintings and 16th century tapestries. The master bedroom has a large canopied bed draped in beautiful fabrics and silks. One of the six huge oil paintings in the bedroom forms the headboard while another painting opens to reveal an exquisite marble bathroom. Modern amenities include air conditioning, multi-language satellite plasmaTV, DVD, Bose I-pod player, mini-bar, safe, fax and wi-fi internet access.
Optional additional accommodation is available in the Blue Bedroom, which is reached via a wooden staircase (16 stairs), just off one of the reception rooms. The bedroom is so-called because of its blue and white Chinese vases , and is charming, although not as grand as the master bedroom in the Residenza.
There is also a rooftop garden suite available to rent, with the main suite and blue bedroom. This consists of a cosy sleeping and living area, and also has access to a spectacular 600 sq feet terrace, furnished with terracotta pots of lavender, and with stunning views of the city.
