The original architectural lines of the houses have been preserved, as well as other traditional features. Environmentally friendly materials have been used in the renovation, including traditional air conditioning systems. The interiors are furnished with original handmade pieces. Each house is named after a specific period in Santorini’s history, capturing the unique spirit of Santorini Island. The owners have tried to provide an authentic Santorini experience, and at the same time including modern comforts. There is a concierge service, and also a film DVD library, and books offered at the reception. There is also a free parking area. There is free internet access throughout (although due to the traditional architecture, the original walls are thick and the wireless internet access might be limited in some areas). Daily maid service is included, as well as bathrobes and slippers, and there are many other services available on request., including preparation of breakfast and other meals. All rooms are no smoking. This house (43,20 m²) takes its name from the Byzantine period when, under the influence of Constantinople, the Christian faith was adopted. It is a ground floor, stone-built house, which can accommodate up to four people. It has a living room-sleeping area with a canopy bed, private bathroom and a separate small kitchen. A second bedroom with a double bed can be accessed through an internal staircase to the loft of the villa. In the courtyard there is a small swimming pool. The Byzantine house also has LCD screen satellite TV and DVD Player. All rooms, and the swimming pool, have been constructed to accommodate disabled people.

Byzantine Villa is one of a cluster of five traditional, stone-built houses located in the very pretty preserved village of Emporio, with its narrow whitewashed roads, blue-domed churches and a ruined medieval castle. On the hill above the village you will find picturesque old Santorini windmills, and the ruins of a fortress from the Byzantine period known as Kasteli. On the east side of hill, the five white-painted stone houses sit in a cluster, on different levels, offering serenity and relaxation in an authentic environment, untouched by the mass tourism. They benefit from panoramic views over the village to the sea. Each villa has its own pool and terrace, and are surrounded by high outdoor walls ensure total privacy. Dating from the early 20th century, they have been fully renovated and restored during the last 17 years paying attention to detail and following the traditional and unique techniques of the local craftsmen.
